We are in search of a Plumber Mechanic Helper with at least three years of experience assisting plumbers, for a direct hire position with our client in Charlotte, NC.This role provides comprehensive benefits, encompassing Paid Time Off (PTO), Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-term and Long-term Disability coverage, as well as participation in a 401K retirement savings plan.The compensation ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour (based on experience)Monday - Friday 40 hours a weekIn this role you willprovide assistance to Plumbing Mechanic by using, supplying or holding materials or tools. Expected to ensure work area, tools and equipment are clean.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Measure, cut and assemble new pipe, placing the assembled pipe as directed.Cut or drill holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipe.Perform rough-ins, repair and replace fixtures and water heaters; locate, repair, or remove leaking or broken pipe.Assist plumber in layout, assembly, and installation of piping for air, ammonia, gas, and water systems.Mount brackets hang on walls and ceilings to hold pipes.Set sleeves and inserts to provide support for pipes.Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.Immerse pipe in chemical solution to remove dirt, oil, and scale.Clean work areas, tools andor equipment.Respond to emergency calls as needed.Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.Fit or assist in fitting valves, couplings or assemblies to tanks, pumps or systems using hand tools.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education andor ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Completion of tradetechnical school or other apprenticeship programs is helpful.A minimum of one to three years prior work experience as a plumber's helper in commercial or light industrial settings is necessary.The ability to use power tools and equipment commonly used in the construction trade in a safe manner is required.Mathematical SkillsMust possess basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
