G&H | GS Optics LLC is hiring a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer. This position provides support to all manufacturing operations by utilizing engineering, metrology and analytical skills. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical aptitude and skill. Candidates must be able to multi-task and work within timelines for manufacturing and customer satisfaction. The Manufacturing Engineer will offer suggestions for improvement to part, tool, fixtures, manufacturing or measurement processes, layout, and general manufacturing efficiencies. They will develop fixture concepts, and designs for molding, metrology, coating, CNC degating and diamond turning and they will determine and develop the most efficient test protocols and procedures and repeatability studies. Medical, Dental and Vision benefits401k plans with company matchCompany paid Life and Disability InsuranceVoluntary insurance benefits at low group discount ratesPaid HolidaysPaid Time Off and Sick TimeEmployee Assistance ProgramEducation Assistance ProgramWellness Program· Employee Appreciation Programs Responsibilities:· Heavily involved in Quality Engineering, that includes measuring production and development injection molded, diamond turned, machined components.· Involved with pre-planning of production that may include metrology needs such as programming new parts on the OGP, CMM, quality fixturing. · Work with molding and machining departments to develop the best molding or machining process using statistical analysis, following documented SMT process, measuring parts from trials, analyze data and determine subsequent process changes.· Assist in diamond turning department which may include producing parts or mold inserts to specification, including measuring parts, may create diamond turning programs using Diffys programming software.· Create, perform and document current measurement procedures for customer optical projects.· Assists program launch team in conducting new tool tryouts and other activities as scheduled.· Understand advanced concepts within the profession and apply knowledge and experience to complex manufacturing situations.· Recommends incorporation of new technology where feasible and practical.· Assists in designing and developing the best manufacturing practices for the diamond turning, quality, molding, coating, tooling departments.· Supports process improvement initiatives and activities throughout the plant.· Documents special projects with metrics and communicate to teams involved.· Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities. SkillsExperienceEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Optical, Mechanical preferred or relevant experience- with a background in manufacturing.Minimum 3 to 5 years hands on work experience in mechanical or optical engineering field in a manufacturing setting.Ability to visualize and comprehend aspects of manufacturing components, metrology, equipment and tooling, understand the relationships of factors affecting a given situation, be attentive to detail and continually seek to improve work processes.Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced work environment.Self-motivatedExcellent organizational, analytical and communication direct supervisory experience in team atmosphere.
