DescriptionWe are managing complex, large-scale commercial projects from conceptual planning through design, construction, and occupancy. Join our construction management team to collaborate on projects that are as technically challenging they are impactful, creative, and fulfilling.Your OpportunityThe Resident Engineer acts as an extension of IndyGo Blue Line to administer the construction contract, to monitor the cost, schedule, and quality of the Construction Contractor's work, and to establish that construction work is completed in conformance with the requirements of the contract documents. The Resident Engineer reports directly to the CM and is responsible for the Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team's performance including leading field engineers and inspectors.Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe Resident Engineer coordinates with the technical representatives on the project team, the client, as well as third-party stakeholders.The Resident Engineer will manage the Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team to verify that the Contractor's processes are structured to ensure that safety, quality, schedule, and all construction activities are incompliance with contract documents, governmental regulations, environmental and cultural commitments, and safety standards.The Resident Engineer acts as an extension of the client to administer the construction contract, to monitor the cost, schedule, and quality of the Construction Contractor's work, and to establish that construction work is completed in conformance with the requirements of the contract documents. Some functions are delegated to other members of the RE's support staff.The RE reports directly to the CM, leads the CEI team members, and is responsible for the CEI team's performance.Only the RE can direct the Construction Contractor within the specified authority limitations, and other CEI team members must adhere to this protocol.Supervising CEI personnel assigned to the construction projects.Hosting pre-construction meetings and regular weekly progress meetings with the Construction Contractor, the client, and when necessary, the utilities, stakeholders, and other parties as required.Hosting regular meetings with the client staff to review Project issues and progress.Coordinating with and providing cost and progress data to support the timely creation and distribution of progress environmental Compliance Plan (ECP).Processing requests by the Contractor to change a major subcontractor or key personnel.Assisting the Contractor in facilitating the required early contract workshops and conferences among the Contractor, CEI, and the client.Maintaining a record of decisions, conversations, and directions through appropriate means of a diary, report, notebook, emails, telephone logs, etc.Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of the daily construction progress, including the Lead Inspector's Daily Observation Report, extensive use of photographs, meeting minutes, and correspondence files (including emails).Managing the assembly of reports to the client and reviewing them prior to being issued.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsKnowledgeable of Code of Federal and State of Indiana regulations and Administrative RulesProficient team leadership of multi-disciplined utilities infrastructure construction.Technically proficient in all relevant areas of design and construction and understanding of various methods.Experience and knowledge of managing multi-disciplined contractors for heavy civil and major public works utilities construction projects.Proficient knowledge of design, site development, and all types of public works, civil and utilities infrastructure design and construction.Highly effective in building and maintaining client relationships.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsPosition is a field position located in the project office in Indiana.Must be committed to zero safety incidents.Experience and knowledge of various estimating and project management software.Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office SuiteGood driving record and valid driver's license
