Job Title: Senior Manager, Content Acquisitions, BritBox North America Department: Editorial & Programming teamDivision: BritBoxWork pattern: HybridLocation: New York, NYReports to: Head of Editorial and Programming Strategy, BritBox North AmericaJob Purpose This role is responsible for the supply of finished tape programming to BritBox across its North America market. This includes both library and premiere content sourced from both BritBox's parent company and a range of 3rd party distributors. The person fulfilling this role will partner with a second Content Acquisitions Senior Manager to ensure BritBox has the strongest possible slate of programming to drive customer acquisition, engagement and retention. Heshethey will source & track projects, evaluate & recommend targets and negotiate & close deals.Responsibilities Work closely with Editorial & Programming team to set and execute the content buying strategyand negotiate content from distributors for current and future servicesthat all deals are within approved budget, return optimal value for money, comply with Britbox's internal processes and cover the rights requiredkey performance analytics to develop consistent reporting toolsand analyze KPIscomp pricing for projected ROI to enhance buying strategya standardized, internal workflow to manage efficiencies across acquisitions deptbudget reviews on short-term cycles to ensure regional spend is optimizednewpotential subscriber insights and trend analyses to iterate dealsclosely with Legal to ensure contracts close at a reasonable speed and materials proceed promptlyaccurately for all relevant partiesavailable content to ensure acquisitions are appropriate and well-suited for the servicewith the Head of Programming to evaluate opportunities for upstream productionnew relationships and build on existing partnerships with content producersdistributors to support BritBox in securing shows at any stageto be the best buyer in the business via work ethic, attitude, aptitude and dependabilityscreenings, industry markets and events as recommendedad-hoc projects and reports as neededSkills and Personal Attributes dedicated and nimble approach to achieve success in a dynamic environment with shifting prioritiesfor British programmingunderstanding of evolving audience behaviors and the on-demand mediascapecollaboration skills to enable problem-solving and produce positive outcomeswritten and verbal communications skills with impeccable attention to detailto manage multiple projects concurrently through excellent organizational skillsmindset, continually looking to learn and challenge assumptionsto use own initiative with confidence, using judgment to escalate where necessaryand knowledgeable content champion within the organization and with external partnersQualifications and Experience 6+ years of negotiation experience with a strong working knowledge of streaming industry rightsterms and demonstrable skills with television deal-making across global distributorsCreative problem-solving skills with a flair for finding solutions that drive negotiations forwardConfidence to strategically assess opportunities through sophisticated analysis and data driven decision-makingExtensive understanding of programming budgets and good financial business senseCommand of competitor landscape and skills to share topline information to larger groupsFluency with AirTable is essentialto occasionally work outside of standard US working hours to meet with colleagues based in the UK and Australia is essentialrelationships in the market; direct experience in the UK-based industry is idealExperience in developing projects at their earliest stages is a plusExperience managing a direct report is a plusCuriosity about emerging technologies, such as AI, is beneficialSalary Range: $95-105K base salary.Please note that the salary range is intended to give as an indicator of the salaries that could be attributed to the breadth or experience for a given role.
