Job Description:

Amsted Rail is the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America. Our Keokuk, IA Plant currently has an opportunity available for a Safety Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and enforcing all safety measures for the manufacturing facility to include inspects work areas, products, and employee work habits to ensure that everything is in compliance with OHSA rules and safety guidelines and makes changes to improve the safety of the workplace as necessary.Major Activities:Maintains and prepares records and calculations of payroll for hourly putes holiday pay, vacation pay, deductions, etc.Tracks attendance with timekeeping system and runs attendance reports.Forwards proper worker's compensation claims to state office.Performs varied clerical duties in conjunction with timekeeping, i.e., balancing, payroll taxes, labor accruals, temporary disability payments, etc.Answers inquiries regarding benefits, to include short term disability and FMLA.Assists in recruitment activities - screening of candidates.Posts jobs for bid, track job bids and hourly performance reviews.Performs other clerical duties and miscellaneous duties as required.Minor Activities:Prepares seniority lists as required.Arranges, sorts and files routine materials.Maintains electronic timecard records and distributionreplacementprogramming.Equal Opportunity EmployerProtected VeteransIndividuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
