SummaryObjectiveThe I&E Designer will work with engineers and project managers to develop robust and reliable prepackaged buildings, process skids, cryogenic plants, power racks, control systems and other I&E systems in the oil and gas industry.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Work directly with engineers and project managers to produce computer-aided drafting and design drawings from specifications, source control drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.Develop project deliverables in accordance with MCSI, client, and industry standards.Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.Provide guidance and direction to junior level personnel. (Senior Level)Create complex electrical and control schematics. (Senior Level)Adhere to department and company policies, processes, and procedures.Required Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.Must have 2+ years' design experience with electrical and control system design projects in industrial applications. (Mid Level)Must have 10+ years' design experience with electrical and control system design projects in industrial applications. (Senior Level)Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite required.Basic knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code is required. (Mid Level)Knowledge and understanding of NEC, API-RP500, IEEE, API-RP552, and other industry codes and standards is required. (Senior Level)Capable of interpreting and producing motor control schematics, protective relay schematics, and 1-line diagrams.Able to work with project management and engineering personnel to develop conceptual designs for bid purposes.Able to review project documentation, specifications, and scope of work and identify missing design information.Willing to travel to perform site walk-downs and facility As-Builts.Capable of producing field sketches and generating designs from information collected.Able to work directly with shop personnel to problem solve or mitigate changes.Able to check the work of other designers for accuracy.Self-sufficient and detail oriented.Ability to multitask in a challenging and dynamic working environment.Great customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and writtenverbal communication skills.Ability to read and write English, follow policies.Current trade license or certificate of training. Preferred Education and ExperienceAssociate's degree or relevant trade school experience.Experience with Microsoft Access.AutoCAD 3D andor CADWorx experience.
