If you believe in better and want to be part of a team of workplace visionaries in a creative and exciting environment, we want to talk to you! APG Office Furnishings is growing and searching for a motivated Project Designer. Job Description: Responsible for the design process from initial discovery and programming, through installation and post-occupancy. Duties include client communication, programming, space planning, furniture and materials selections, quote generation, preparation of all installation plans and other necessary project documentation. Client engagement across project timeline including presentation of product and layout solutions, with or without Sales involvement, based on client relationship and circumstances. The Project Designer will manage multiple interior furnishings projects within a collaborative team environment. Job Responsibilities include: Review and assess the Project Scope of Work and collaborate with the Project Team on go forward strategyReview and develop product specifications based upon client needs or design documentsCreate interior furniture solutions using computer-generated design software, populating the space from scratch or from a predesigned floor planCreate client deliverables specific to each project, including but not limited to floor plans, specifications, renderings, and 3D flythroughsAssist in fabric and finish selection and presentationReview all drawings and specifications for accuracyEvaluate site conditions and gather field dimensions as needed to ensure fit and appropriateness of furniture selectionsCreate installation drawings and related documentationGather all necessary documents and client signoffs required for order entryRecord and track design hours for project billingAdditional responsibilities may be required depending on defined Project Scope of Work   Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related fieldMinimum of 2 years corporate design experienceProficiency in AutoCAD 2018 or newer, CAP 2020 commercial software and Microsoft Office programsKnowledge and competency in CET Designer a plusStrong knowledge of Herman Miller, Knoll or other major systems manufacturersExpertise in production of working drawings: floor plans, furniture plans, finish, floor and wall treatment schedules, interior elevations and isometrics, renderings, etc.Ability to handle multiple office design projects and manage deliverable execution to project scheduleEnthusiastic team player with excellent client communication skillsWillingness to work within the office environment, travel between regional offices and to client locations as neededDetail oriented individual with the ability to produce accurate furniture and finish specifications and installation drawingsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Exceptional communication and customer service skillsKnowledge of modular furniture (systems, powerdata, etc.) a plusStrong understanding of interior construction including architectural elements, lighting, electrical and basic base building knowledgeAbility to read and understand construction documents and specificationsAbility to adapt and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environmentOutstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to foster relationships, comfortable interfacing with all project stakeholders as well as the internal teamAn aptitude with technology and a willingness to learnHigh attention to detail and accuracyMust be extremely organized, with good time management skills and the ability to work independentlyWillingness to maintain continuing education and participate in additional training as requiredPhysical:Seeing, color perception, hearinglistening, clear speech, hand and finger dexterityAbility to sit or stand for long periods of timeComplex reading and writing skills, basic math skills, judgementdecision making, analysiscomprehension Working Environment:Regularly works with others face to face, over the phone, through video conferencing and emailTypically works in an office environment with moderate noiseWilling to travel between regional offices and to client locations as needed or requiredNature of work may require occasional overtime and some time spent out of the officeAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
