Job Title: Sr Specialist, RF Electrical Engineer - RadarJob type: Full-time direct hireJob Location: Colorado Springs, COJob DescriptionWe are seeking a senior professional with strong knowledge of RF engineering to support multiple programs in its Space and Airborne Systems division, including sustainment and upgrade of the PARCS weapons system. The engineer will be responsible for managing complex projects or processes with general oversight, leading Technical Subcontract design management and RF Systems design, development, and testing. The individual should be versed in the complete design life cycle.Manage complex projects or processes with general oversight.Determine design approaches and parameters.Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.Perform simulations for LRUsSystem Specifications and present design reviews to peer engineers.Generate schematics, route, and layout PCBs.Lead and perform trade studies required to make both tactical and strategic technical decisions for programs.Provide mentoring, guidance, and leadership to novice engineers. Essential Functions:Analyzedesign systemelectricalelectronic components, SW, control systems, and interfaces of custom and commercial products used in ground-based radar & communication systems.Analyze system needs to identify systemcomponent performance & capacity requirements, & cost for development, repair, or replacement of system components.Recommend, and specify, system modifications & system component replacements to meet those requirements. Analyzeevaluate systems & recommend design modifications or equipment repair.Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment. Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, & systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations. Perform Phased Array Radar RF hardware development, such as Complex Hardware Based Beamforming for Receive and Transmit Paths, Low Noise Amplifiers, Pre-Amplifiers, High Power Amplifiers, High Power Phase Shifters, Frequency Converters, and Frequency Synthesizers.Ability to perform RFMicrowave Device testing and evaluation including s-parameter, large signal load-pull characterization as well as modulated signal measurements.Select equipment and construct test benches to evaluate designs to specifications. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar field and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree in electrical engineering or similar field and 4 years of related experience. Instead of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Experience with common commercial RF design and analysis tools to design and analyze RF circuits and systems (i.e., ADS, HFSS, CST, MATLAB)Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
