Retail Sales Rep Job Title: Retail Sales RepSupervisor: Fred AugerEffective Date: xxx, xx, 2024FLSA Status: [Non-Exempt]Hours: Generally, 8-hour days, 5 days per week, with an occasional Saturday showroom shift. Hours can include evenings and weekends on occasion.  Location: Time will be spent either at C&F offices or on jobsites. This is not a work from home position.   Description of the Job: A Retail Sales Rep is responsible for generating profitable sales for C&F Flooring and Rug Gallery. Successful reps accomplish this by exhibiting the highest level of integrity and customer service in all interactions. Retail Sales Reps drive new business to C&F turning inbound leads into customers and by proactively generating new leads and customer connections. Retail Sales Reps develop deep knowledge of flooring products and trends so they can better serve their customers.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job: -      Source new leads and build new relationships with homeowners, home builders, designers, decorators, owners of small- to mid-sized commercial properties, etc. -      Maintain close relationship with existing clients, striving to earn their repeat business. -      Respond to customer questions and bid requests in a timely manner. -      Sell to walk-in customers at C&F's showroom. -      Measure jobs and produce estimates that are accurate and that meet profit goals of the company. -      Follow up on submitted bids as necessary, and in a timely manner. -      Produce purchase orders and work orders to ensure that materials are available and labor is scheduled in order to complete jobs on time and on budget. -      Visit jobsites to verify quality of workmanship and address issues as they arise, involving C&F management as needed. -      Progress jobs within C&F's computer system ensuring that customer billing happens as quickly as possible. -      Communicate with admin staff about Open Orders, working to get them closed and billed. -      Directly communicate with customers, in collaboration with admin staff, to get full payment on jobs within C&F's stated payment term dates. -      Drive between C&F warehouses, offices, and customer jobsites on a regular basis.   Qualifications Guidelines:To perform the job of a Retail Sales Rep successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above-listed responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill andor ability required.  -      Language Ability: This position requires excellent written, verbal and group communication skills. This position also requires the ability to read, analyze, create and interpret general business memos and documents.-      Math Ability: This position requires excellent business math skills, including, but not limited to, ability to use basic math: addition, subtraction, division, basic fractions, percentages, ratios, measurements, conversion of units. etc. -      Reasoning Ability: This position requires strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.-      Computer Skills: Good computer skills required. Must be proficient with the use of the internet and be able to utilize computerized business tools such as e-mail, learning management systems, and human resource systems. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and other required software.-      EducationExperience: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service is required.-      Driver's License and Access to Vehicle: As one of the duties of the Retail Sales Rep is to drive between C&F warehouses, C&F offices, and customer jobsites on a daily basis, the Retail Sales Rep will need a valid driver's license and access at the necessary times to a motor vehicle for transportation and be insurable. Physical Demands: -      The person in this position needs to constantly communicate with other employees and customers face-to-face, via phone calls, or other means. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. -      The person in this position needs to regularly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine. -      The person in this position needs to occasionally ascenddescend a ladder, and there is likely to be occasional lifting of supplies and materials and moderate to loud noise. -      There will be exposure to hot and cold work environments on jobsites. -      The person in this position must be able to occasionally detect deficiencies in flooring quality (including color, texture, and overall appearance). -      The person in this position needs to have the ability to drive a motor vehicle.    This job description is not a comprehensive listing of activities and duties.
