Since 1985 we have taken over 25,000 travelers on life changing tours all over the world.Our exciting travel programs provide optimal hands-on learning opportunities, enhance self-esteem, improve socialization and expand the appreciation and acceptance of people with disabilities as important members of our world.Responsibilities of Director of DevelopmentDesign and implement our major gifts' program, direct mail appeals, holiday campaigns, planned givingExpand our endowment, and current fundraising activitiesManage and cultivate relationships with existing major gift donors and identify new donorsClearly communicate our organization's missionAssist the board and other staff with their solicitations (provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel and help with donor communications)Secure major gifts at $5,000 minimum level with the goal of raising $100,000+ in new gifts annuallyFocus approximately eighty percent of your time on fundraising activities for major giftsManage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects using Salesforce donor database and wealth screening toolsManage existing portfolio 1500 donors and prospectsHelp donors accomplish their philanthropic goals by maintaining a strong relationship with the organizationWork with the organization to set goals and align fund raising effortsFully acknowledge donors both individually and publiclyEstablish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituenciesJob requirementsExcellent writing and speaking skillsAbility to energize a team, persuade prospects and persevere to the endAt least 6 years of not-for-profit fundraising experience with a proven ability to secure individual and major gifts and meet objectivesAn understanding of the special needs community and an ability to empathize with family members, care giversTrack record of successful face-to-face major gift solicitationsAbility to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituenciesBenefitsTravel if desiredExcellent benefitsGenerous paid time offGreat work environmentAnnual Salary: Starting at $100,000
