Compensation: $100,000-$110,000 plus excellent company benefits and pension planThis position will be in-office located in the Galleria areaCompany OverviewOur Client serves as the shared services provider for the group's operating companies. The privately-held client companies include six parent companies and 28 active subsidiaries. The operating companies are primarily in the salt production and distribution, brine production, solution mining, pipeline and underground hydrocarbon storage businesses. Position OverviewWe are seeking seeking a Procurement Specialist who will be responsible for the Company's procurement activities. The responsibilities include identifying new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased material and equipment meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. This position reports to the Director of Purchasing and will maintain key relationships with Operations, Plant Management, and AccountingQualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering or business administration.4-7 years of work experience specifically in the areas of procurement supporting operations and capital construction projects.Oil and Gas experience a plus, specifically in drilling.Strong understanding of MRO, and drilling categories. Strong experience with procurement processes, methodology and industry standards.Working knowledge of sourcing processes and methodologies.Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of delivering value and results.Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to produce clear and well-organized documents.Ability to multitask, manage time and prioritize tasks.High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Proficient in SAPPosition FunctionOversee purchasing activities that will support capital construction projects and operations across the United States.Streamline procurement process by implementing automated tools.Develop efficient procurement solutions and support Plants with the implementation of procurement strategies.Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsible for purchasing equipment and material for capital construction and operations categories.Researching and identifying prospective suppliers.Facilitates request for quotation process, including development of bid packages, and analyzing commercial aspects of proposal.Negotiate terms with suppliers, such as price, quality of goods and delivery dates.Expedite all material and equipment to ensure timely delivery to the site.Liaise with Plant personnel regarding delivery status on material. Facilitate the resolution of all procurement related issues or discrepancies.Liaise with Accounts Payable to resolve invoices issues. Facilitates and manages PO close-out process.Maintains effective communication with all key stakeholders and suppliers.Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns.
