Position SummaryOur client, a rapidly growing leader in the automation industry and a fully integrated provider of instrumentation, electrical, automation and automation engineering services, is looking to hire an Area Manager for their West Texas region. This role will be based in the MidlandOdessa office. They offer great career advancement opportunities, a family-like culture and the opportunity to learn new skills.The Area Manager is responsible for operational management of the West Texas region, including P&L performance, operational excellence, sales support, promoting growth and team mentoring. This role will oversee and enforce the use of systems, processes and procedures that drive excellence, will collaborate with stakeholders and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong technical expertise, process implementation and business acumen to remain compliant, efficient and profitable.Position Description Expectations:Lead your team (5-6 direct reports, roughly 100 indirect) by example and manage customer work execution for the profitable outcomeMaintain work culture of an inclusive, team-like, professional, safe, and positive work environment for the staff, corporate representatives, managers, and techniciansReport to the VP of Operations for the daily utilization of personnel and equipmentTrack utilization, KPI's and results through operational softwareMaintain minimum (or greater) gross profit margin on a monthly basisMotivate, mentor and lead team and ensure that quotas, KPIs, success metrics and incentive structures are effectivePosition Responsibilities:Maximize manpower while utilizing the skills, material, and other resources efficiently; monitor costs, productivity, budgeting and schedulingDevelop relationships with internal and external parties, build rapport with the team to understand individual skills and strengthsConduct Site visits routinely and check technician work through SupervisorsForemenEnforce the standards and safety procedures of the companyManage reoccurring work schedules Monitor field technicians after hour work activity and safe travel monitoring Plan and maintain on call scheduleEnsure that all service programs, policies, and processes are carried out by all field service personnelEnsure that service trucks are properly maintained and in good working orderAssist with development of annual plans for the service department and measure performance monthlyEnsure repair completion by assessing and providing the tools, supplies, parts and troubleshooting guidanceOversee and engage in day-to-day operationsDevelop and implement operations strategies, structure and processes that make operations more efficient and profitableDrive profitability by managing labor and operational costs within each product line and areaMaintain and support efficient team structure and performance; foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork and inclusivenessInterview, hire, train and coach the operations management teamProvide weekly updates on operations to senior management teamStay abreast of current market trends and industry changes, keep updated on the competitive landscape within the industryImplement strategic changes to increase quality, productivity and employee satisfactionAssist management at both the Corporate and Field levels with all trainings, materials and tools needed to remain compliant with all local, government and customers' requirementsCommunicate and promote safety standards, rules, programs, processes and procedures to workers at work sites and shop facilities to field staff to ensure compliance with our HSE policies and procedures, applicable federal and state legislation and current industry standardsPosition Qualifications:Journeyman's or Master's Electrical license, 4-year degree is a plus10 or more years of electrical experience in the onshore O&G industry with at least 5 years of experience managing teams and operationsStrong knowledge of electrical for the O&G industryBi-lingual (EnglishSpanish)Good leadership and mentoring skillsTrack record of fostering a strong work culture while still holding employees accountableTeam player open to constructive feedback
