Job Description:

We are a leading food manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) practices. As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety Director to join our team and lead our EHS initiatives.Duties and Responsibilities:• Identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury andor property damage using safety standards and best management practices• Analyze and track results, identify opportunities and implement measures for continuous improvement• Maintain training and education to remain current on laws impacting their areas of responsibility for compliance with industry requirements and Federal, State and Local regulations• Collaborate with Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Risk Management, Legal, on related protocols and incident management• Design methods for appraising safety conditions in warehouses, factories, or offices• Develop and deliver EH&S training courses• Inspects working conditions to ensure all products and activities are compliant with safety guidelines• Monitor company's environmental and safety procedures• Recalls defective and unsafe products and machinery• Runs emergency drills to gauge employee preparedness• Consults with company manager regarding the implementation of new safety procedures• Addresses any workplace-related health issues and accidents• Creates and implements standard operating procedures for facility• Writes and revises company safety handbook• Updates Training Matrix which includes S.O.P. training records as well as safety training• Manage department budget• Other duties as assignedQualifications and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or related field• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry• Demonstrates ability to remain calm and cool-headed in the event of an emergency• CHSP, CHCM, CHFSP, CHMM, CIH, or CSHM certifications desired• In-depth knowledge of Joint Commission, CA Title 2224, OSHPD, and CalOSHA• Exceptional supervisory skills, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and work flow organization• Demonstrates broad knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines for the workplace• Exhibits knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols• Possesses knowledge of legal repercussions of workplace accidents• Demonstrates familiarity with job site machinery and products• Communicates clearly and effectively• Pays close attention to detail• Exhibits strong organizational skills• Possesses solid problem-solving and analytical abilities• Proficient in the use of word processing programs• Works well with a team• Job Position: EHS Director• Possesses strong writing skills Work Environment• Time will be spent on the job site monitoring conditions and inspecting products• Time will also be spent in an office setting processing paperwork• Job site may be hazardous or pose serious threats in emergency situations• Proper safety gear must be worn at all times
