A renowned company dedicated to advancements in the field of health is currently looking to add a skilled Senior Scientist to their team. The selected individual will contribute to the development of innovative machine learning models focusing on proprietary data for optimizing biologics.They are a well backed organization that are already generating significant revenue. They have access to their own datasets and are working in collaboration with some major pharmaceutical brands. This is a real Science role - you'll be building foundational machine learning approaches from scratch and applying them to inherently complex biological processes. Whilst production engineering is not a responsibility you'll take on, having solid Python skills and at the bare minimum an understanding of the pragmatic limitations of productionising machine learning models is important!Responsibilities:Engage in research and development of cutting-edge AI algorithms, exploring areas such as protein language models and generative AI, to enhance understanding of protein-protein interactions and support internal drug discovery processes.Lead the development of a robust and adaptable code base, ensuring adherence to best practices, data integrity, and efficient deployment of models within cloud environments.Act as a mentor, collaborating closely with a team of ML experts to foster an environment of learning and technical growth.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement novel machine learning methods for predicting and manipulating protein-protein interactions to address challenges in drug discovery.Deliver high-quality outputs such as code features, research reports, and presentations, within specified timelines.Contribute expertise to the company's codebase, facilitating knowledge sharing and ensuring smooth integration of new capabilities across the team.Collaborate enthusiastically with colleagues, providing guidance and support to enhance technical skills within the broader Data Science department.Qualifications & Experience:Required:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with substantial professional experience in machine learning, particularly in biological data analysis.Proficiency in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, with a strong understanding of machine learning theory and its practical implementation.Expertise in data manipulation and model training, with a solid grasp of scientific concepts in related fields.Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying research findings to diverse audiences.Preferred:Advanced degree (PhD) in a relevant field.Experience with Python and cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services.Familiarity with machine learning engineering practices and modern deployment techniques.Knowledge of emerging trends in biology-related domains, with a track record of scientific publications or presentations.You'll be joining an exciting company working on the precipice of applied Machine Learning for Biotech. The company are Boston based and operating a Hybrid model with an expected 2 - 3 days a week in the office. Working hours are flexible and the company do operate on a culture of autonomy. Salary wise, this role pays up to $200,000 as a basic salary and offers a competitive bonus scheme along side this.
