Job Summary:Responsible for general oversight of daily operations of multiple mobile and fixed commercial asphalt production plants; assists with production planning, budgeting, and ensuring quality and production targets are met.Main Responsibilities:Embrace the Company's safety atmosphere, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesAssist with establishing safety, quality and efficiency standards for production operationsMonitor operations to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met, including compliance with MSHA, OSHA, DEQ, EPA and similar industry regulationsMaintain effective relationships and work with customers, suppliers, local communities, local, state and federal governments, and Company business groupsCoordinate hiring, training, and development of asphalt production staffAssist with development of budgets and forecasts; handle production schedules to meet plans for assigned sitesReview and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational practices and recommend improvements to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and production efficiencyUse established Key Performance Indicators to garner production resultsMonitor equipment maintenance practices and assist with maintenance planning to improve plant up-timeWork with the sales, construction operations, and quality control teams to establish production schedules to meet internal and external customer needsEducation:Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, similar field, andor equivalent combination of education and experienceCurrent MSHA Certification andor ability to obtain may be required for some rolesValid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record requiredSkills:5+ years of practical experience with asphalt, ready mix, emulsion, andor similar production processesConsistent record of leading, managing, and developing employeesDiscernment, including experienceability reading, interpreting, and analyzing financial statementsAbility to analyze information, draw conclusions, and recommend solutionsAbility to communicate expertly and optimally to individuals at all levels of the organizationAbility to plan, problem-solve, and work effectively to meet targetsConsistent record of maintaining a safe work cultureAdept computer skills using MS Office, plant production software, and similar programsPhysical Requirements:Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), as the need arises by company safety guidelinesRegularly required to lift and or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceRegularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Regularly required to Standwork on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrainFrequent work in close proximity to heavy equipment and machinery, exposure to loud noiseFrequent exposure to typical production plantindustrial site conditions, including dust and loud noiseWork performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to all weather conditionsTravel, including overnight stays away from home required to support mobile operationsRegularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard andor mobile deviceRegularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuityBenefits and Perks:Compensation*:$84K-$124K DOE*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.Benefits:All full-time hourly employees are eligible to participate in Simon benefits as defined in plan documents.
