Crop Insurance Policy and Procedure Analyst National Crop Insurance Services, Inc. (NCIS) is a non-profit service organization whose membership includes all approved insurance providers (AIPs) who participate in the federal crop insurance program. The program is offered by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation and administered by USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA). More information about the industry can be found at .NCIS is seeking to fill a new full-time position in the role of Crop Insurance Policy and Procedure Analyst. This position will serve as a subject matter expert, lead and engage in industry conversations, and provide industry training. Other responsibilities include collaboration with industry partners to evaluate and develop multiple peril and private Crop-Hail underwriting and loss adjustment procedure policy language ensuring that such procedures meet industry and RMA standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide subject matter expertise on a vast selection of crop insurance-related topics and deliver regular updates on industryinsurance issuesconcerns related to policy, underwriting, and loss adjustment to NCIS senior leadership.Lead analysis of the RMA policy language and procedural standards and collaborate development and revisions of current MPCI policies and procedures to assess adequacy and effectiveness ensuring accuracy and consistency with RMA approved and industry standards.Serve as liaison in several capacities which may include 1) a liaison between RMA, NCIS, and its members; 2) NCIS liaison to assigned Regional-State committee(s); and 3) NCIS liaison to an NCIS standing committee.Participate in all aspects of moderating assigned Regional-State andor standing committee(s) including: Communicate regularly with the chair, vice-chair, and committee members; Organize and lead meetings and field days for the committee and sub-committees; Generate agendas, meeting materials, notes, and meeting minutes; and, Follow up on committee-specific issues and facilitate the recommendation process.Assist with the development and delivery of training at conferenceswebinars, NCIS- sponsored loss schoolsfield days, and with other industry or internal training projects.Assist with developing and maintaining an inventory of MPCI underwriting and loss adjustment forms for new and existing crop insurance programs.Meet deadlines for response, approval, and issuance of policy language and loss procedures. Provide MPCI loss and underwriting inquiry support and follow-up to the industry.Represent NCIS at various activities in a professional manner and provide an elevated level of customer service to industry partners. Attend industry meetings, remain current with agricultural practices, policy language and interpretations, underwriting procedures, and loss adjustment techniques.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or ten or more years related crop insurance policy and procedure experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to work with computer software, including Excel, Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat and virtual meeting facilitation software experience (Teams, Zoom, etc.). Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively present informationtraining materials and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, Board of Directors and the general public. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication. Must have extensive crop insurance terminology and understanding. WORK ENVIRONMENT: NCIS is located in Overland Park, KS and is observing a hybrid model with a minimum of ten scheduled days in the office per month.PAY: Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
