Become part of our team.Your ChallengeThe Material Planning & Logistics Manager position supervises and coordinates team members in the departments responsible for planning and procurement of materials in production, receiving, storing, and preparing product for shipment.Lead the location specific logistics, materials, and production planning initiativesAssure adherence of safety specifications and processes in the logistics areas that use powered industrial trucks and manual material handing equipmentOversight of LogisticsTMS support- carrier related concernsLead and support of material handling improvementsUse Lean manufacturing methodologies in the value chain to drive continuous improvementWork with Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning lead to drive inventory reduction projectsEnsure level loading of the production planning processes for inventory optimizationSupport development and maintenance of PFEP, replenishment, and flow of material strategies into standardized processesMeasure and own Logistic Key Performance Indicators such as inventory turns, material variance, on-time delivery (fill rate)Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workersInterview and hire new employeesPartner with Manufacturing to ensure coordination of other functions such as production planning, raw and finished goods inventory managementLeads the communication collaboratively within the site support functions and sales teamConduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and constructive performanceEnsure teams have processes in place to control non-conformance materials to initiate corrective actions, ensure that the commodities are inspected for conformity with other specifications and checked for defectsEnsure that all activities regarding the transport logistics andor production logistics andor logistics planning are performed in time and budget.Ensure that the project stages are adequately managed and deadlines are met, ensure that the customer and supplier conditions and requirements are consideredManage supervisors and underlying employees of the material planning, receiving, inventory management, and shipping departments of the local site to the performance measures and engage in the hiring process of these departmentsJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree Required5 years of experience in a logistics capacity or similar with 3 years supervisory experienceStrong communication skills at all levels of the organizationManufacturingindustry Distribution experience requiredLean Manufacturing experience desiredWorking knowledge of ERP systems, SAP or other preferredCustomer and supplier orientation, organization and coordination skillsSelf-initiative and ability to work under pressureInterpersonal skills and problem solving skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approachAbility to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal & professional levelExperience or knowledge of raw materials planningproduction scheduling processWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, handle or feel with hands; and reachlift with hands and arms up to 50 poundsAre you full of ideas?
