Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the VP of Medical Affairs plays a critical role in advancing the company's mission, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement strategic plans for the Medical Affairs department in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the company.Provide medical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to support product development, regulatory activities, and commercialization efforts.Medical Oversight:Oversee medical aspects of clinical trials, including study design, protocol development, and interpretation of clinical data.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethical principles in all medical activities.KOL Engagement and Scientific Communication:Cultivate and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), medical societies, and academic institutions to advance scientific understanding and support product development.Lead the development and execution of scientific communication strategies, including publications, presentations, and medical education programs.Medical Information and Patient Safety:Oversee the provision of accurate and timely medical information to healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.Manage pharmacovigilance activities, including monitoring and reporting of adverse events and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Market Access and Reimbursement:Collaborate with commercial teams to develop and implement market access strategies, including payer engagement and reimbursement support.Provide medical input into pricing, access, and reimbursement discussions to optimize patient access to company products.Cross-functional Collaboration:Collaborate with other departments, including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Operations, and Legal, to support the successful development and commercialization of products.Serve as a medical expert and liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, including regulatory agencies, advisory boards, and healthcare professionals.Qualifications:Medical degree required; advanced degree PhD is preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in Medical Affairs or related roles within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.Board certification or eligibility in a relevant medical specialty preferred.Proven track record of strategic leadership and successful execution in a pharmaceutical or biotech company.Strong understanding of clinical research, drug development processes, and regulatory requirements.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Strong business acumen and ability to integrate medical and commercial considerations in mitment to ethical conduct, patient safety, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is $300,000-$330,000.
