Are you a Senior R & D Food Science professional in the salty snack industry? We are working with a thriving, rapidly expanding company that is looking for a Technical Director of R & D and Commercialization. This is a pivotal role in maximizing throughput, optimizing production processes, reducing material waste, and ensuring the creation of a consistent, scalable product.This is a leadership role that will work to maximize efficiency and sustainable practices within a dynamic manufacturing environment!Location: Lexington, Kentucky Job Responsibilities:Spearhead research and development initiatives to enhance product quality, flavor profiles, and production efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce innovative technologies and ingredients that align with market trends and consumer preferences.Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce material waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.Analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement to maximize throughput.Implement data-driven approaches to enhance production speed while maintaining product quality and consistency.Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain rigorous standards for product quality and consistency.Work closely with the R&D team to ensure new product formulations are scalable for mass production.Develop and implement processes that allow for the efficient scaling up of production to meet market demand.Lead initiatives to identify and implement best practices, automation, and technology solutions that drive continuous improvement across all facets of the manufacturing process.Utilize extensive experience in frying processes to optimize production techniques, ensuring consistent product quality and adherence to industry standards and regulations.Implement and oversee equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.Supplement, track, and be accountable for mutually agreed upon itiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, or quality system and recommend or provide solutions to correct any deficiencies with collaborative support from the QC department.Required SkillsQualifications: Advanced degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in food manufacturing environment with relevant experience within R&D and Commercialization in Salty Snack ManufacturingMust have experience in a fried snack manufacturing facility, including product formulation, oil absorption during the frying process, oil turnover management, and product seasoning in both dry & slurry -depth knowledge of salty snack production processes, especially frying technologies.Proven track record of driving successful R&D projects and implementing continuous improvement -depth knowledge of food production processes and scalable manufacturing.Demonstrated ability to foster an innovative culture within the organization, encouraging creative thinking and experimentation.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.Thorough understanding of food safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, control measures, and regulatory compliance with USDA and FDA.Prior experience in managing and commissioning capex projects.Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - green belt or black belt a plusMust have demonstrated excellence in critical thinking and ability to be pragmatic and tactical as needed.Ability to travel as required (Valid driver's license
