As a leading biotechnology company, we are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the advancement of our gene therapy programs.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Director of Protein Biochemistry to lead our protein engineering and intrabody discovery research efforts and contribute to the development of novel therapeutics and diagnostics. The Senior Director of Protein Biochemistry will report to the Head of R and D (with a dotted line to the CSO) and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of protein engineering and intrabody discovery research, from experimental design and data generation to analysis and interpretation. Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Strategy:Provide strategic direction and leadership for the protein engineering and intrabody discovery programDevelop and execute a comprehensive protein engineering and intrabody discovery roadmap aligned with company goals and objectives.Drive innovation and explore emerging technologies and methodologies in proteomics research. This will include a focus on AI, ML and informatics.Team Management:Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of scientists and research associates with expertise in protein engineering and intrabody discovery.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes scientific excellence and professional growth.Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure project success and timely delivery of results.Experimental Design and Execution:Design and optimize experiments to address key scientific questions and research objectives.Oversee sample preparation, protein extraction, purification, and mass spectrometry analysis.Implement quality control measures and ensure data integrity and reproducibility.Data Analysis and Interpretation:Develop and implement robust data analysis pipelines for proteomics data processing and interpretation.Perform statistical analysis and visualization of proteomics data to identify biomarkers, pathways, and protein-protein interactions.Generate comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing key findings and insights.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to integrate proteomics data with other omics and functional datasets.Present research findings at scientific conferences, seminars, and internal meetings.Foster strong relationships with academic and industry partners to advance proteomics research and explore new collaborations and opportunities.Qualifications and background:Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biochemistry, proteomics, molecular biology, or a related field.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in protein engineering and intrabodyantibody discovery, with a proven track record of scientific achievement and leadership.Strong background in protein biochemistry, functionactivity relationship of ubiquitinasesdeubiquitinases, and structural biology ideally with experience in integral membrane protein expressionExperience with functional and high throughput ion channel assays, and proximity assaysProficiency in bioinformatics and statistical analysis software for proteomics data analysis.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams.Demonstrated track record of strategic thinking, project management, and successful execution of proteomics research projects.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive scientific innovation and excellence.Join our innovative team and contribute to the development of groundbreaking gene therapies that have the potential to transform patients' lives.
