Job Description:

PharmaCord is seeking a Director of Operations and Workforce Management in our Pharmacy who will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of the department. The director will work with patients, healthcare providers, and client partners to achieve successful operations by providing in-depth knowledge of our pharmacy operations and client programs in a high-volume pharmacy environment. This position requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can manage the day-to-day operations while aligning them with broader organizational goals. The Director of Operations, Pharmacy will collaborate with various stakeholders, including pharmacists, healthcare providers, and administrative staff, to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services and is expected to be patient focused and committed to providing the highest quality customer service all while maintaining a sense of compliance and commitment to company policies and procedures.A typical day in the life of a Director of Operations, Pharmacy will include the following:Operational Management:Manage the Pharmacy Frontend and Backend operations to monitor daily activities.Develop, implement, and continually seek to improve operational workflows.Optimize the efficiency of the operations and maintain quality employee performance in accordance with PharmaCord expectation.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Team Leadership:Supervise and lead pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Provide training and professional development opportunities for pharmacy personnel.Develop workforce management tools for leadership team to implement to ensure appropriate staffing utilization is maintained.Conduct performance evaluations and address performance issues as needed.Develop, implement, and monitor pharmacy training materials.Assist with team hiring, development and training.Identify, hire and retain quality associates as needed.Support the efforts of the pharmacy training resources to on-board, train new employees.Assist with ongoing team training to ensure quality and proficiency in their roles.Provide consistent, timely coaching and development for direct reports in your functional area.Strategic Planning:Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for the pharmacy department.Contribute to the development of organizational goals and objectives related to pharmaceutical services.Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to inform strategic decision-making.Budget Management:Develop and manage the pharmacy budget, ensuring financial goals are met.Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising the quality of pharmaceutical services.Oversee policies and procedures for the pharmacy including inventory management, prescription processing, and returned goods management.Monitor expenses, analyze variances, and adjust budgetary allocations as needed.Quality Assurance:Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and safety of pharmaceutical services.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of pharmacy operations.Utilize performance metrics for team to manage and monitor and to ensure that quality of work meets or exceeds the PharmaCord expectation in accordance with all regulatory requirements.Observe legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary PharmaCord ply with state and federal laws up to and including State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.Collaboration:Maintain professional standards during internal and client-facing interactions.Assume main point of pharmacy operations contact with internal program operations teams and external client accounts, as directed.Take ownership of tracking KPIs; serve as the conduit between the PharmaCord pharmacy and the PharmaCord operations team to ensure continuity of operations that meets program expectations.Lead the pharmacy operations implementation of new business opportunities working with internal cross functional team members. Provide timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.Assist with business development activities including program assessment, design, and implementation.Work directly with Executive Team to provide research on new business development targets, advise on pharmacy components of the solution and participate where needed in prospective client interactions.Technology:Familiarity with pharmacy management software and technology.Be knowledgeable on pharmacy operating and automation systems, evaluating and implementing appropriate strategies to streamline pharmacy operations as needed.Ensure the effective use of pharmacy management systems and other software tools.This job might be for you if (must have requirements of the role):Service minded; focus on recognizing and meeting the needs of others (especially patients and care partners)Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.Ability to handle personal health information with mitment to honesty and integrityProfessionalism and a strong sense of proper business and customer service etiquetteClear verbal and written communication skillsAccountability for resultsAbility to plan and prioritize tasks and strong attention to detail.Proficient emotional intelligence (ability to recognize emotions and their effects)Ability to manage disruptive impulses and handle potentially stressful customer interactions.Proficient computer skillsAbility to adapt to change.Personal initiative and commitment to team and organizational goalsAbility to work effectively within a team.A positive attitude!Requirements: Bachelor's degreeAt least 7 years of proven experience in pharmacy operations management preferred.High-volume retail, hospital, or mail-order pharmacy experience preferred.Previous personnelteam management experience is required.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Workforce management experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.PBM Contract Negotiation experience required Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed.Physical Demands & Work Environment:This is a full-time exempt position.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.This job operates in a professional office environment.
