Job DetailsDescription:E Ink's Product Development Group is looking for a highly motivated, creative and hands-on Coating Technician. Reporting to the Coating Line Engineer, this individual will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operation of coating equipment in our expanding Billerica, MA pilot facility. Working as part of cross-functional project teams, this individual will support coordinating and executing complex pilot-scale experiments to develop creative coating and lamination solutions.Job Responsibilities:Work closely with line supervisor to implement optimized processes and material flow for the operation of pilot roll-to-roll coating equipment Operate equipment per standard practices and possess ability to evaluate results and make recommendations to continue running based on observed qualityEnsure all best practices, and safety protocols are observed and followedMonitor and assure outgoing quality meets specifications and communicate non-conformance Respond to process upsets (troubleshooting) and drive solutionsDrive opportunities for improvement (efficiencies, sampling rates, material movement, labelingcommunication, SOPs etc.)Qualifications:GED or High School diploma plus a minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant manufacturing environmentStrong relationship and organizational skills to manage multiple projects tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work effectively with individuals at all levels and functions of the organization to develop solutions to manufacturing fortable working in a fast paced, self managed environment with aggressive goals.Strong PC skills: solid understanding of the Microsoft Suite and spreadsheet applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to make meaningful contributions to resolving complicated technical problems such as those associated with coating defects or coating machine equipment issues.Some familiarity with SPC, SOP's, ISO, FMEA, 6 Sigma and other related manufacturing tools desiredExperience in chemical, coating or converting manufacturing environments a strong bonus.
