Stablix- Senior Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry The companyStablix is a venture-backed preclinical stage drug discovery company, pioneering an entirely new field of targeted deubiquitination therapeutics to bring transformative medicines to patients with high unmet medical need. Our platform generates novel bifunctional molecules that selectively recruit deubiquitinases (DUBs) to target proteins to precisely remove ubiquitin for therapeutic advantage. We are seeking motivated, collaborative, and experienced individuals to join the medicinal chemistry team. Equipped with a broad background in synthetic organic chemistry, the successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of hit-to-lead optimization to clinical candidate, and the ability to be dynamic working across multiple projects. This position will be in person in our Boston office. DutiesResponsibilities:Contribute to medicinal chemistry strategy that aligned with project goalsAnalyze structure-activity relationships to design compounds for lead optimization of biological activity, molecular properties and pharmacokinetic parametersWork in close collaboration with internal and external chemistry teams to efficiently progress compound optimization and scale up campaignCollaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines to rapidly progress leads towards clinical candidatesCommunicate medicinal chemistry strategy, objectives, progress & challenges to key stakeholdersQualifications Education ExperienceAdvanced degree in syntheticorganicmedicinal chemistry3 to 5+ years of experience in drug discovery and development in a biotech or pharmaceutical settingExperience working with heterobifunctional molecules desirableHighly creative and productive with excellent knowledge of synthetic chemistry methodologiesStrong medicinal chemistry and drug design knowledge with a solid understanding of ADMEPK, biology, and pharmacology principlesExperience working with external CRO chemistry teamsExperience being the chemistry lead on multidisciplinary project teams, driving compound progression through hit optimization to development candidates.Highly collaborative team player with effective communication skillsProven record of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
