Job Description:

The Senior EAP Counselor provides short-term counseling, assessment and referrals for clients of the EAP. Conducts supervisor information and training sessions. Consults with supervisors, managers and HR staff. Serves as a lead worker to other EAP Counselors. May serve as back-up for EAP Manager and EAP Director in supervising the office; and other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSConsults and collaborates with medical providers and other team members regarding thediagnosis and treatment of behavioral health and other psychosocial issues. Assists in effectively managing, treating and counseling patients with chronic mental health conditions.Conducts psychosocial assessments, screenings and triage of patients, as needed.Develops individualized care plans for patients based on needs assessments which identify problems, goals, skills training, and other service needs.Provides support to patients to assist them in dealing with social, emotional, financial and orenvironmental factors which affect their well-being.Provides short term individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, as well as education and skills training.Assists in the detection of high-risk patients to assess and provide care to prevent further psychological deterioration.EDUCATION andor EXPERIENCE* Master's in social work or related field* Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills* Excellent clinical skills in mental health and addictions treatment* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Ten or more years of experience* Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) highly recommended
