Job SummaryThe Senior Government Contracts Attorney assists the legal team and other senior executives of Company. The Senior Government Contracts Attorney ensures Company's compliance with various laws, regulations, and government contractual requirements. The Senior Government Contracts Attorney also assists the executive team in providing guidance and oversight of legal matters and contract administration at Company, including conflict of interest analysis.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Government Contracts Attorney will be responsible for ensuring that the Company's legal structure, federal contracts, and business strategies are developed and applied to recognize and address all legal implications and risks, especially with respect to government contracts compliance matters.The Senior Government Contracts Attorney must maintain oversight responsibility in law-related areas of significant contracts-related matters.The Senior Government Contracts Attorney will identify any potential compliance risks well in advance and perform required reporting requirements.Additional duties include:Counsels on government compliance and contractual risk.Assists with providing contracts and other data for audits.Works with the business development and proposal team to provide legal advice regarding risks and compliance.Drafts and negotiates various government and commercial contracts.Performs conflicts of interest analysis and advises on business structures to address conflict of interest matters.Maintains properly compiled legal records.Assists with mergers & acquisitions matters, including attending to due diligence matters.Protects the confidentiality of patient information through compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).Completes relevant annual training in security awareness, rules of conduct, and conflicts of interest.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications and RequirementsStrong understanding of federal government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and governmental compliance requirements.Knowledge of fundamentals of contract preparation, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and negotiation techniques.Strong understanding of organizational concepts.Knowledge of office management principles and procedures.Practical knowledge of and ability to comply with system and information security requirements.Juris Doctorate Degree.Proven contracts, including government contracts, experience in a business environment.Two years of related experience in the fields of contracts and compliance.Admitted to the bar in at least one jurisdiction within the United States.Highly developed oral and written communication skills.Strong ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.Highly efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.Proven ability to investigate and research.Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to negotiate and mediate conflict.
