Job Description:

One Tech Engineering is searching for an Electrical Engineer for a position located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for completing physical design on various EPC substation projects. The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience.Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:Work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors and client needs.Preparecreate general arrangements, sections and electrical details, yard layouts, and bill of materials for the installation of new, or modifications to existing, substations.Createmodify technical specifications for major equipment, such as power transformers, power circuit breakers, control enclosures, and other related high-voltage materials.Perform calculations such as lightning protection, grounding analysis, and lighting plans.Coordinate with and provide technical assistance to P&C, civil, structural, and transmission line engineers.Apply field mark-ups of project as-built drawings.Assist with client communication and manufacturer drawing reviews.Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to municate and coordinate project activities with project manager and others as needed.Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced team members.Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements.Support the development of subcontracted diverse firms and company's international affiliates.Participate in marketing and possible client development meetings.Responsible for the physical design QAQC process.Evaluate manufacture prints from vendors to verify they meet design criteria.All other duties as assigned. Requirements of the Electrical Engineer:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.At least 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.Strong knowledge of ACDC fundamentals, including understanding of three-phase power systems.Knowledge of basic protection principles and practices for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and major substation equipment. Familiarity with microprocessor-based protection and control systems with the ability to understand one-lines and control schematics.Substation physical layout, electrical clearances, rigid and strain bus design, ground grid design, surge and direct stroke protection, and raceway design.Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI.Successful completion (i.e. passing) FE or EIT, or PE, preferred.Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to travel (10% to 25%).
