Job Description:

Medical Services of America currently seeks an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at the MSA Corporate Office in Lexington, SC.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Provides guidance and consults on a broad range of Employee Relations issues including: HR policy and procedures, interpretation andor application of policy; employee concerns and issue resolutions; federal & state regulations.Conducts investigations into reported violations of company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.Prepares investigative reports, makes recommendations for disciplinetermination, analyzes relevant data, and records findings.Consults with various levels of management regarding termination decisions and ensures that corrective action procedures are implemented where appropriate.Ensures consistency in the application and enforcement of policies and procedures and the compliance with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, etc.) and all other relevant federal and state laws.Handles employee relations issuesinvestigations in a timely manner by conducting research, interview and analysis of data during the investigative phase.Administers the company's FMLA and GLOA program.Works closely with MSA's General Counsel, outside legal counsel, leadership, and other Human Resource professionals on policy development and resolution of HR issuesResponds to unemployment claims and represents the company at unemployment fact-findings and hearings.Assist in risk management activities such as filing claims to various insurance policies, safety training and reviews, etc.Assists with the completion of annual OSHA 300 FormsAssists with creating and updating existing job descriptions as needed.Serves as backup and support for various payroll and human resource department tasks, responsibilities, etc.Conducts wage and benefit surveys as neededConducts managementsupervisory training as neededContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and HR certification strongly preferred3 to 5 years multi-level and multi-state employee relations experience preferredPrior HR Generalist or related experience in a large complex organization preferredPrior HR experience in the health care industry strongly preferredDemonstrated experience at problem solving, conflict resolution and employee relations investigationsAbility to prioritize workload, multi-task, organize and focus on multiple issues and goalsMust be a self starter who works well independentlyStrong computer skills required (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain confidentialityAbility to elicit the confidence and trust of all levels of management and employeesAbility to establish rapport and be an effective communicator with all levels of management and employeesWe offer competitive pay and excellent benefits40 hours paid time off during the first year of employmentMedical, Vision & Dental InsuranceCompany paid life insurance401(k) retirement with a generous company matchCompany provided web based trainingOpportunities for advancementOther great benefitsMSA is an Equal Opportunity EmployerVisit us at
