Make a difference with us at WestLand!WestLand is actively seeking a Project Manager, Environmental (Mining) to be based out of our Reno, NV office. This person will be highly motivated and will understand the challenges of developing an environmental program specific to our current and future mining clients. To be successful in this role, you will need to have established relationships with local regulatory agencies, you should have mining-industry clientele in the area that you can engage with, and you will need to be experienced and comfortable building connections with prospective clients.What will I be doing?Developing and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets in alignment with clients and firms needsManaging project progress using project management software. Experience with VantagePoint is considered an asset.Directing project specific researchWriting or supervising the writing of project reports and technical memorandums for exploration and mining projectsDeveloping environmental permit applications and documents relevant to the mining industry's improvement projectsReviewing reports for accuracy and adherence to agency guidelinesScheduling project resources and ensuring projects are staffed appropriately. Interacting with environmental compliance agencies and other government bodiesMaintaining regular and productive communication with clientsParticipating in marketing and proposal effortsMaintaining expected level of utilizationTraveling as requiredWhat qualifications are required for this role?Bachelor's degree in natural resources, environmental science, geology, soil science, or related field. Five (5) or more years of experience in environmental permitting (including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404, Endangered Species Act (ESA), etc.). Two (2) or more years of experience managing multi-disciplinary projects with ever increasing complexity. Experience with public lands, natural resource issues, andor mining projects in the Western U.S.Ongoing and positive relationships with federal land management and regulatory agenciesExperience writing and reviewing technical reports. Experience leading and mentoring environmental teams including environmental specialists (botanists, biologists, geologists, etc.). Valid driver's license.
