Our mission centers on the belief that art and self-expression should be equally available to every Miamian. The ideal candidate will have a deep and abiding love for Miami and its people"”and the creative skills and curiosity to seek out and amplify the voices of our diverse communities.The Executive Director will serve as O, Miami's chief artistic director, responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing the artistic vision and focus of O, Miami's programming, publications and public presence. The Executive Director will oversee the implementation of a fundraising strategy to support the organization's programs and initiatives, assess and address the needs of a growing team, and continue to expand O, Miami's impact. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring the organization's fiscal health and providing necessary support to a team of staff, contractors, and volunteers.Essential responsibilities include: Strategy & Vision ● Champion the organization's mission, crafting strategic objectives that resonate with our ethos and the cultural heartbeat of Miami; ● Evaluate and refine programs to ensure they are aligned with organizational values, operational budget and artistic vision;● Identify and develop strategic partnerships and relationships that foster collaboration, engage local writers and artists, and support civic engagement.Effective Leadership ● Lead by example to maintain a culture centered on creativity, collaboration, accountability and transparency;● Inspire, motivate, and lead a team of diverse, talented, and dedicated staff and consultants to advance the organization's mission and realize its strategic goals;● Analyze and refine the organizational structure and systems to increase efficiency and enhance impact;● Cultivate a strong and productive working relationship with O, Miami's Board of Directors, serving as the primary liaison to the board in order to set fundraising, programmatic, and strategic goals.Artistic Direction & Community Engagement ● Propel innovative and dynamic projects and events that accentuate poetry and foster profound community connections; ● Act as a compelling and passionate spokesperson for O, Miami's community-driven mission and artistic purpose via speaking engagements, fundraising events, media opportunities and public statementspublished works;● Engage and collaborate with both established and emerging figures and institutions in the arts, culture and literary worlds to enhance O, Miami's artistic and educational programming;● Cultivate and strengthen ties with community leaders and pivotal stakeholders, leveraging these relationships for the benefit of our mission and the community; ● Champion inclusivity, ensuring that our projects and events are reflective of Miami's diverse voices and narratives;● Advocate for the arts, poetry, and cultural engagement as fundamental pillars for fostering vibrant, inclusive communities. Fundraising & Fiscal Management ● Oversee the creation and implementation of a strategic fundraising plan, including staffing models, to expand funding opportunities;● Lead the cultivation and solicitation of donors, investors and grant funders to diversify revenue and increase unrestricted funding;● Manage the development of budgets and related program and staffing plans;● Oversee the effective management of the organization's resources, ensuring its fiscal stability and long-term sustainability.Qualifications: ● Knowledge of and connection to South Florida and its unique cultural dynamics, diverse populations and particular geographies. ● Strong leadership credentials in arts administration, nonprofit management, or a similar field, with an emphasis on fundraising and community building. ● Experience as an advocate or ambassador for the arts. ● Exceptional communication skills coupled with the ability to inspire and unite a broad spectrum of stakeholders. ● Proven proficiency in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational growth. ● A commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging within the organization and the broader community. ● Fluency in Spanish andor Haitian Kreyí²l a plus.
