General Summary:The successful candidate will inspect materials and products, processes, or components for conformance to customer specifications. This includes first part, in-process and final inspection by performing the below listed duties. Tasks include all essential duties and responsibilities of a Quality Inspector including in-process and final mechanical and assembly inspection. Responsible for day-to-day activities in support of the mechanical and assembly manufacturing departments. Performance will be on an advanced level basis, handling technical problems of moderate to complex scope, with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be expected to be fully supportive of Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. Values, Honda Philosophy.*This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)*Duties and Responsibilities:Works with other quality and production persons, has no direct reportso Facilitate the HACI Quality Systemo Perform in-process inspection in accordance with Type Design, Work Orders, and internal procedureso Perform final inspection per customer and company requirementso Write Quality Notifications as necessary for non-conforming product and assist in determining corrective action.o Maintain positive working relationships with other departmentso Help manufacturing troubleshoot problems as they occuro Control the accuracy of quality assurance recordso Perform first piece and or first article inspectionso Cross training with other inspectors that includes incoming and other inspectiono Other tasks as requestedEducation, Work Experience, Certification andor Licensure:o Associate Degree (Technical) andor minimum 2 years' quality or manufacturing related experience including mechanical andor composite, andor systems assembly. One year of direct aircraft quality experience potentially may be substituted for each year of college.o Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required Knowledge Skills and Abilitieso Able to communicate effectively with other personnelo Proficiency in the use of basic manufacturing inspection equipment. This includes but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, plug (and thread gages) and electronic height gageso Experienced in blue print reading including GD&To Strong computer knowledgeo Uses time effectively and rarely allows irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:o Experience within an ISO 9001 Quality Systemo Training in Lean Manufacturingo Experience in first article inspectionso Familiarity with aircraft manufacturing including composites, sheet metal and machiningo SAP experiencePhysical Requirements:Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, andor aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel cumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job prehend and adhere to management directions andor safety instructions with no restrictions.Effectively communicate in Business English language.Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.Pull, push, carry, lift or move materialspeopleitemsequipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
