Job Title: Chemical Lab Technician Location: 370 Frankfort Road, Monaca, PA 15061 Duration: 12+ MonthsPay: $23hr on w2 Summary- Using a variety of testing equipment including: GCs, HPLC, FTIR, Spectrophotometers, Viscometers, Ovens, balances, pH meters, Microscopy, LIMS & SAP data systems.Conducting analytical testing on emulsion polymerization products and plant waste water in support of In-Process and Finished Goods 247 ISO 9001 manufacturing operations.Evaluating data versus internal and external specificationsEvaluating incoming Raw MaterialsPerforming bacteria testingInteracting with the Supply Chain and Operations departments at the Monaca site to expedite shipments to customers utilizing SAPContributing and adhering to Safety, Environmental, Quality and EEOAA standards of the Corporation, Division and SiteOther duties as assigned by the SupervisorThis position does not offer relocation benefitsQualifications - Associates degree in Biology or Chemistry or 2-year Technical degree in Analytical Testing with a minimum 6+ months of industrial experience in an QAQC or R&D or Analytical or Environmental laboratory environment OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with minimum 3+ years of relevant industrial lab experience in either a QAQC or R&D or Analytical or Environmental Laboratory required.***This location is near Bidwell Training Center and Butler Community College. Both institutions offer a Chemical Lab Training Program. Candidates sourced from either of these facilities would be ideal***Ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments, in addition to a familiarity with personal computersExperience with Microsoft Office products; ie., Word, PowerPoint, Excel.Knowledge of testing equipment found in laboratory setting; ie., GCs, HPLC, FTIRS, ViscometersWell-developed analytical methodology and an insight into problem solving.Knowledge of SPCDetail oriented with the ability to record (via notebook or computer) and report pertinent dataOrganizational skillsMust be able to achieve a passing score on a pre-placement aptitude testOn occasion, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs.Must be able to follow both written procedures and verbal instructionsMust be able to follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment.Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and interact with management and employees within the organizationAbility to work rotating shifts and overtime when requiredGood communication skills (oral and written)The preferred candidate will have minimum 2+ years' experience in a lab position of increasing responsibility.Experience working in an ISO or GMP compliance driven lab environmentExperience working in a manufacturing environment on a rotating shift.Experience with emulsion polymerization products, laboratory testing and practices.
