Job Description:

UCP Charter Schools is looking for an experience school instructional leader to serve as the principal of our UCP West Orange Charter School. This school is a PreK-5th grade public charter school with approximately 300 students and about 70 team members. The school is inclusive by design with 50% of the students with disabilities educated in classrooms with their non-disabled peers. The Principal, working in partnership with the Superintendent and Education Leadership Team, builds and maintains a culture of high academic expectations, where every student can succeed to their maximum ability, maintains a safe and healthy environment, and facilitates the participation of parentsguardians to maximize each student's learning potential. This is a year-round position. Experience:Prefer Principal experience or minimum of Assistant Principal or similar school leadership experience (minimum of 3 years)5 years' experience teaching in a classroom including children with disabilities in the regular classroom.Minimum of 3 years supervisory experienceDemonstrated ability to lead a school community toward improved academic achievement.Demonstrated experience in working successfully with diverse populations of students, parents, and families"”including students, parents and families with limited English proficiency and students with disabilities.Experience hiring and managing teachers and other instructional staff and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and members of the community. Experience and knowledge of effective practices in implementing a project-based learning model of instruction - differentiating instruction for a wide range of learners.Capacity to mentor teachers in reflective mitment to continuous improvement and learning through professional development.
