McCall, Parkhurst & Horton L.L.P. is currently seeking a sharp, confident, and reliable Legal Executive Assistant to work in its Austin office. This is a full-time, in-office position with hybrid considerations given after 6 months of employment. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a collegial work environment. To succeed in this role, candidates must be a trustworthy professional that has strong verbalwritten communication skills along with stellar time management skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties are primarily job duties that must be able to be performed unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.1.     Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and Outlook required.2.     Draft and type correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents with great attention to detail.3.     Establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems; utilize firm calendar and prioritize tasks.4.     Open new files and maintain client and general files. Conduct periodic review for possible storage of older files on-site; prepare files to be closed.5.     Work closely and cooperatively with administrative support staff (word processing, receptionists, accounting personnel, etc.); proof documents; ensure that attorney time sheets are provided to the appropriate person in a timely manner.6.     Process bills; proof billing sheets; review, edit and send billing statements to clients.7.     Perform other secretarial and administrative duties as requested, including, but not limited to, performing overload typing, filing, photocopying, or reception relief as time permits and as requested by other attorneys or staff.8.     Foster a sense of community and cooperation in the workplace; be willing to assist others in completing their tasks; treat others with courtesy and respect at all times; demonstrate a commitment to a friendly work environment.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED1.     Ability to read and write in order to proof and perform editing of routine law office correspondence and legal matters (e.g., punctuation, grammar, spelling). Perform non-complex arithmetic calculations when verifying calculations on forms and documents; maintain records and filing systems.2.     Ability to prepare, proof and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports.3.     Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.4.     Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with courtesy and tact.5.     Ability to maintain professional demeanor when essential duties require a high level of mental effort and strain (e.g., when timely answering a high volume of urgent requests for information and performing other essential duties).6.     Ability to be in personal during normal working hours Monday through Friday (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), with the possibility of a hybrid model (after 6 months), depending on situation.7.     Ability to occasionally work more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position, when needed.The above descriptions are intended to describe the general content of, and requirements for, the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of essential duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
