ASSOCIATE ATTORNEYAssociate Attorney needed to join our growing, fast paced law firm in Oakland County, Michigan. We are a full-service real estate law firm that counsel clients on a wide range of real estate and corporate litigation based matters.Candidates will be expected to be involved in all aspects of:LITIGATION (landlordtenant issues, quiet title actions, foreclosure defense, real estate commission issues, and other real estate based matters)Drafting Pleadings, Motions and DiscoveryConduct Legal ResearchAttend HearingsREAL ESTATE (both residential and commercial)Drafting purchase agreements, land contracts, deeds, easements, mortgages and promissory notesReviewing closing documents including title workAnswer legal questions from Realtors®regarding real estate sales and purchasesResponsibilities:Conduct legal research and analysis using various resources such as Lexis-Nexis and WestlawDraft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and agreementsAssist with case management and preparation for hearings, trials, and depositionsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelConduct negotiations on behalf of clientsProvide legal advice and guidance to clientsAssist with administrative tasks related to legal mattersMeet firm set minimal billing requirementsSkills:Strong research and writing skillsProficiency in legal drafting and document preparationAbility to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound adviceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of legal administrative proceduresProficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and familiar with PracticeMasterTabs3 billing softwareHave courtroom experienceExperience with litigation is a plusThis position requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar. Prior experience as an associate attorney is preferred.
