Specializing in commercialindustrial HVAC, the Technician performs advanced-level maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems, including multi-ton chillers, in order to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Position requires the Technician to have extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing and correcting malfunctions. The ideal EMI HVAC Technician is EPA Universal Certified and has the skill level to make repairs on a variety of systems.Salary$32.45 hr. plus $9.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!See ALL the fantastic benefits you receive as an employee of EMI below!!Key ResponsibilitiesWork on Air-cooled chillers, pumps and water systems, and VRF systemsAutomated Building Controls:test input & output for voltage on building systems sensorsactivators Work on units: split package, residential style, and up to light commercial, mini-splits, VAV's and AHU Use a multi-meter to check voltage lampUse a torch for brazingPrepare work orders and cost materials estimatesHelp teach and guide Technician IEssential SkillsWork independently, a self-starterRead schematic diagramsUnderstand the Refrigeration cycle with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend repair strategiesAdvanced troubleshooting and mechanical knowledge of various HVAC unitsPRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent4+ years of ADAVANCED experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of COMMERCIALINDUSTRIAL heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systemsEPA Universal Refrigeration LicenseHVAC I course or equivalentValid driver's licenseValid DL compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screeningRegular, dependable attendance OVERTIME- Available evenings & weekendsUS citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installationsPhysical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
