Staff Accountant - Family Office ServicesFirm OverviewA multi-family office and tax firm specializing in serving the complex needs of high-net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, many of whom are in the alternative investment industry. In addition to providing core family office and tax preparation services, their staff of devoted professionals works closely with each of their client's personal advisors to assemble a team of experts tailored to his or her needs, assuring that effective tax, gift and estate, philanthropic, and family goals are skillfully intertwined.PositionThe Family Office, based in the Baltimore Metro area, has an opening to hire a Staff Accountant for the firm's Family Office Services group. The Staff Accountant will work on a team assigned to service clients to provide day-to-day reporting, and to support Tax and Trust & Estate planning.ResponsibilitiesProvide Family Office services for the firm's ultra-high net worth clients.Develop a deep understanding of the clients' financial picture, which often includes trusts and other related entitiesMonitor cash flow activity, payroll, tax payments, and insurance policiesMaintain organized and accurate supporting documentation of all transactions within a defined filing systemComprehensive bill pay and investment trackingAssisting with special accounting and financial statement projects as necessaryCreate and maintain personal financial statements in QuickBooksPerform financial statement consolidationsVarious one-off projects for clients, such as cash flow projections or other customized reportsAssemble and organize information for tax preparationEnsuring all executed documents are retained and filed in an organized mannerAssist with ad hoc internal accounting, HR functions, and tax projects as neededQualities1-2 years of accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceStrong project management skills and ability to handle multiple clientsAppreciation for a high level of client service to meet competing client needsSelf-motivated and has entrepreneurial spiritStrong attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)Has exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
