You will be responsible for handling confidential and sensitive information in a discreet and professional manner and demonstrate organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail. Duties and Responsibilities:•Provide medical records coding for services for Inpatient stays, Inpatient Professional Service Rounds (IPSR), Ambulatory Procedure Visits (APV) and Emergency Services for the Patient Administration Division of Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital (BJACH) •Abstract clinical information from Inpatient discharges, Inpatient Professional Service Rounds, Emergency Services and Ambulatory procedure Visit medical records, charts and documentation and assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes to patient records according to established procedures. •Regularly reviews regulatory and Military Health System specific guidance on coding practices. •Provides feedback on documentation and education as necessary to Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIPs) that provide services at BJACH. Work Location:•All work is performed at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital (BJACH), Fort Polk, Louisiana Minimum Qualifications:•A valid US driver's license •High School diploma or equivalent (Associate or higher preferred) •Pass background check •Must have proficiency with the use of MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) and have computer skills in data management. •RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H certifications are required but may be acquired within 6 (six) months of hire. •Familiar with resource management and personnel management systems and terminology used within the US Army Medical Command, to include: MEPRS, DMHRSi, RVUs, RWPs, CPT codes, ICD-10-CM codes, ICD-10-PCS codes, M2, CMS, CARA, MHS, DQMCP and related topics. •Annual Flu Shot What We Offer•$17.46hour base + $4.41hour fringe benefits•Health, dental, vision and life insurance plans •401(k) Savings plan - with generous company matching contributions (up to 4%) •Paid time off •Federal holidays
