Primary responsibilities of the Cyclic General Maintenance Worker overall include performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on buildings, equipment and machinery in various trades. The ideal EMI Cyclic General Maintenance Worker has the practical skill and knowledge in various trades such as grounds work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC and electrical work.Salary$18.26 hr. plus $4.41 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!See ALL the fantastic benefits you receive as an employee of EMI below!!Key ResponsibilitiesWork involves a variety of the following duties but is not all inclusive: replace broken hardware in a barracks room, working on signage, replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toiletsRepair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipmentPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorateAssemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipmentOrder parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storeroomsPerform general cleaning of buildings or propertiesPerform other related duties as assignedEssential SkillsUse tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devicesAdjust functional parts of devices or control instruments- use hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedgesKnowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in COMMERCIALINDUSTRIAL settings- such as applicable building and safety code requirements and methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipmentKnowledge of building architecturalstructural elements - including alterations and repairsAdaptable and flexible in work situationsEstablish priorities to ensure completion of tasks in a timely mannerPRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent4+ years related experience andor formal vocationaltechnical training in a variety of building andor utility tradesDuty PhoneValid driver's licensePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkRegular, dependable attendanceU.
