Manage and maximize the financial performance of the pharmacy department by monitoring the pharmacy budget, minimizing or altogether avoiding unauthorized overtime, performing necessary pharmacy staff training and development, providing excellence in customer service, managing prescription pricing and generic utilization, controlling pharmacy inventory, and providingimplementingparticipating in corporate approved clinical services. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.Essential Job FunctionsPerform all functions of a staff pharmacist and act as a role model for the pharmacy team; appropriately handle customer complaints and direct workflow to reduce customer wait timesDevelop, implement, supervise, and promote the sales plan and other sales initiatives as developed by the division pharmacy departmentPerform all the duties required and expected of a registered pharmacist in the state of employment and responsible for following all legal and company requirementsDirect the pharmacy team to achieve warehouse utilization goals, avoid unnecessary overstock, reduce the number of fill on-arrival prescriptions, and ensure that all staff members are trained, aware of and follow proper ordering and inventory record keeping proceduresComply with all corporate mandated controlled substance operating proceduresMonitor third-party or insurance profitability; handle third-party problems, rejections, and audits in a timely fashionSchedule all pharmacy staff members in a manner to help control or avoid unnecessary labor costsMaintain all pharmacy records required by state and federal laws and company policiesDirect pharmacy to meet budgeted labor, volume, inventory and sales goalsPerform effective detailing visiting local physicians and other community targetsPromote, implement, and participate in public health initiatives and disease state management servicesTravel independently as needed to support business needsSupervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide direct feedback to direct reportsMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationMinimum Position QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD or recognition as a Foreign Pharmacist Equivalent graduate from the Board of Pharmacy2+ years related retail experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 21 years of ageLicense must be in good standingProven leadership skillsAbility to read and interpret prescriptions and documentsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceCommitment to providing excellent customer serviceAbility to preserve confidentiality of informationAbility and willingness to continue education as necessaryParticipation in clinical programs following company sponsored trainingDesired Previous ExperienceEducationRelevant Pharmacy Board Certification(s)Equivalent combination of education and experience in business managementEducation Level: Bachelor's RequiredRequired Travel: Up to 25%Required CertificationsLicenses: Pharmacy Board LicensePosition Type: Full-TimeRegions: MidwestJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveTuition reimbursementVision insurancePIC, pharmacy manager, pharmacist
