Job Description:

KPI is looking for a DesignManufacturing Engineer. This position will be responsible modeling, detailing, and programming new projects as well as seeing them come to completion on the production floor. This positions works closely with the engineering team, production staff, purchasing team and sales to ensure the utmost quality and efficiency of our product is maintained.Job DutiesUse of SolidWorks, MasterCAM and other related software to create 3D models, drawings and diagrams.Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, quality standards and product goals.Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning for work flow, space requirements and equipment layout and availability.Prepare product and prototype reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing gathered information for current and prospective customers.Provide manufacturing and engineering information, advice and knowledge, by answering related questions, report requests and offering general assistance.Maintain process and product information by creating maintaining CNC programs, drawings, Bill of Materials, build instructions and installation instructions.Direct design and development projects by coordinating, training and assisting production members, throughout the life of the project.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and networking with other professional and personal connections.Contribute to team effort by performing all other duties assigned to benefit the overall goals and success of the company.Job Related SkillsDemonstrate high proficiency in the operation of SolidWorks, MasterCAM and other similar CAD CAM oriented software.Possess a strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 6S Organization, Continuous Improvement, Value Streaming and other similar manufacturing principles.Experience in directing product development procedures that fulfill the objective of a design or prototype to the overall satisfaction of the customer.Experience in creating designs, processes and procedures that meet budgetary, performance and production availability requirements.Contribute to team effort by performing all other duties assigned to benefit the overall goals and success of the company.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical or a similar engineering field is preferred.2+ Years of manufacturing experience is puter Proficiency in data analysis programs and Microsoft Suite.Experience using CAD (SolidWorks) and CAM (Mastercam) software.Knowledge and ability to demonstrate Lean Manufacturing principles.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to demonstrate effective Organization Management Skills.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Additional ExpectationsStrong attention to detail in order to complete projects accurately.To ensure accuracy a checklist will be completed with each project given.Ability to meet strict deadline expectations.Direct superior will communicate deadline expectations and share Smart Sheets in order to see completion timeline.Employee is expected to monitor timeline to keep track of changes and progress.Engineering team should have confidence in each other's abilities to complete tasks and meet deadlines.Effective time management skills and open communication with engineering team.Workload should be distributed evenly throughout the work week when possible, and specific tasks should be prioritized base on urgency of approaching deadlines and critical necessity of potential production loss.Employee is expected to communicate with superior andor engineering team within a reasonable amount of time when there are issues with specific tasks in order to keep the project on plete assigned trainings to expand knowledge in design.Superior will assign real projects to be completed jointly.
