The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality standards, implementing and maintaining safety procedures, and fostering a culture of safety among employees.How You Will Contribute: Quality Assurance:Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure that products meet industry standards and customer requirements.Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.Monitor and analyze quality metrics to track performance and identify trends or patterns that may indicate areas needing improvement.Safety Management:Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing refresher vestigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, safety data sheets, and training records.Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and procedures.Regulatory Compliance:Stay abreast of relevant regulations and standards related to quality assurance and safety in the corrugated industry.Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO requirements.Coordinate with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors as needed to facilitate inspections and audits.Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement in quality assurance and safety management.Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive operational excellence.Regularly review and update quality and safety policies, procedures, and work instructions to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements. Team Leadership:Provide leadership and guidance to the quality assurance and safety teams, including training, coaching, and performance management.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.Promote open communication and feedback channels to ensure that all team members are engaged and aligned with departmental goals. What it Takes:Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, quality management, occupational health and safety, or a related field.Experience in quality assurance and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in corrugated industry being advantageous.Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Analysis.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence change at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager) andor safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
