Job Description:

Job RequirementsReview and analyze assigned test requests to determine if the laboratory has the capability to perform the testConfer with requesting activity to establish a common interpretation of test specifications and establish clear test objectivesDesignate test facilities, methods, procedures, timing and equipmentProvide test quotes as requestedUpload POs when neededCoordinate direct the building of fixtures (if required) for use in testingDirect the fabrication of special instrumentation or adapt existing testing facilities to accommodate new requirementsIssue or modify work instructions as neededConduct monitor tests and equipmentWork with technicians to resolve any issues and ensure test fidelityAnalyze test resultsDocument all scope changes within the TR (from sample size set points changes etc.)Issue test results to the customer in the requested formatUse VLIMS to document the test process (equipment, DM, personnel, timing, cost, results, etc.)May direct the activities of other engineers or technical personnel assigned to assistAddress test equipment issues (conduct root cause and corrective action analysis)Use TETM data base to document test equipment issues as well as test equipment improvementsSafety:Ensure operations comply with corporate safety standardsProvide and maintain a clean, safe work environment for all employeesManage activities so that hazards are assessed and risks eliminated wherever possibleRequire employees use appropriate protection and prevention measuresQuality:Ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with applicable quality standardsA2LA accredited testing to be performed in accordance with ISO IEC 17025All testing to be performed in accordance with ISO TS 16949Ensure that equipment and instrumentation have the necessary quality and calibration checksEnsure proper use of critical consumablesSupport the development of the R&E Test Services quality systemSupport or direct proficiency testingMaintain any all records required to demonstrate compliance with the quality systemResponsibility and the authority for the management of Non-Conforming testing including halting testing and or withholding test reports, as necessaryTest Development:Assist with development of non-standard testsRecommend and implement new methods and or capital investments to improve the efficiency or quality of the lab operationsDefine hardware and software requirements for new equipmentParticipate in the development of testing programsWrite specifications and projects for new equipmentJob QualificationsExperience:3 years of prior experience in an engineering or senior technician technologist role required - with automotive component and subsystem testing andor validation experience preferredEducation:Bachelor of Science in EngineeringDesired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications:Knowledge of mechanical and or electrical conceptsUnderstanding of Automotive Validation Requirements preferredAbility to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skillsAbility to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrentlyStrong written and oral communication skillsSome instrumentation knowledge with a preference for candidates with PLC programming experienceGeneral computer knowledge (MS Office, MS Project)Basic data acquisition and control system knowledgeReliance One, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.
