Job Description:

Summary: As a Design Engineer at Aspen Manufacturing, you will be responsible for driving the development of new products and improvements to existing ones within the HVAC industry. Your role involves conceptualizing designs, creating prototypes, and overseeing testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and troubleshoot design issues to ensure the successful manufacturing and servicing of HVAC products.ResponsibilitiesCreates design concepts, prototypes, bills of materials, drawings, and specifications for new product introductions and existing product improvements.Develop working prototypes and test plans for AHRI and agency compliance. Oversees testing and gives technical guidance and expertise.Plan and schedule projects that meet or exceed established time schedules and budgets.Provide guidance and technical leadership in explaining the design to internal customers when needed to ensure the HVAC products are manufacturedserviced in accordance with the design and best practices.Resolve production-related design issues promptly by providing and updating the appropriate engineering documentation.Analyze cost reduction opportunities and provide resolution of quality issues on key components.Responsible for lab testing, prototypes, pilot builds, simulations & AHRI Ratings, competitive analysis, risk analysis, agency approvals, and designrelease.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, vapor compression cycleTroubleshootingproblem solving on constructabilitydesign issues.CAD 3D modeling and BOM creation ability preferred.Exposure to DFM, DFMEA, UL60335-2-40, AHRI regulationsMust be results and action-oriented with the ability to work under minimum supervision.Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate within cross-functional teams.Strong attention to detail and ownership skillsAble to resolve issues within functional departments.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and five (5) years of experience. Must have experience as a ProductProjectCAD Engineer in an HVACappliance manufacturing environment. Preferred Requirements: Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and three (2) years of experience.About Aspen ManufacturingFounded in 1975 and based in Humble, Texas, Aspen Manufacturing is a leading independent manufacturer of evaporator coils and air handlers under the Aspen and Airmark brands.
