Job Description:

As a Healthcare Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing financial activities within healthcare organizations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations. You will be responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and maintaining regulatory compliance within the complex landscape of healthcare finance. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, healthcare regulations, and financial best practices.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the financial health of the organization.Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support strategic planning and decision-making by senior management.Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis to identify areas for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and revenue optimization within healthcare operations.Reimbursement Management: Manage reimbursement processes, including billing, collections, and claims processing, to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement from payers and government programs.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements governing financial operations, reporting, and ternal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.Audit Support: Coordinate and support external audits and reviews by providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and addressing audit findings in a timely manner.Revenue Cycle Management: Collaborate with revenue cycle management teams to optimize revenue cycle processes, improve cash flow, and minimize revenue cycle inefficiencies.Financial Planning and Analysis: Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, business decisions, and performance improvement efforts.Financial Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, software, and tools to support accounting, reporting, and analysis functions.Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information, trends, and insights to internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and operational teams, to support informed decision-making.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles within the healthcare industry.Deep understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, regulatory requirements, and healthcare accounting principles (e.g., FASB, GASB).Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.Experience with healthcare accounting software (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Cerner) and financial management systems.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and identify trends, patterns, and insights.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic mitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of work.Working Conditions:This position typically operates in a professional office environment within healthcare organizations.May require occasional overtime and flexibility to accommodate deadlines and peak pliance with healthcare privacy and security regulations (HIPAA) is required.
