Job Description:

TITLE: Trauma TherapistDESCRIPTION: Have you always wanted a platform to make transformative change in your community? TurnAround, Inc. is the designated rape crisis center for Baltimore City and County. The Trauma Therapist is responsible for providing trauma-responsive individual services to support survivors who have experienced sexual violence; adults and adolescents who have experienced intimate partner violence and children who have witnessed IPV as well as supporters. TurnAround provides a supportive work environment focused on professional growth, community investment, and a platform for system-level change.REPORTS TO: Clinical SupervisorPRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Provides direct mental health services to clients who have experienced sexual violence as a child or adult, clients who have experienced or witnessed Intimate partner violence or human trafficking, and their supporters.RESPONSIBILITIES:Clinical DutiesIncorporates trauma-informed care philosophy, practices and strategies in all activities.Provide trauma-informed and culturally competent individual counseling for survivors of sexual trauma and crisis counseling as neededProvides therapy for adults, children and adolescent survivors of sexual violence, and their nonoffending family members, partners, guardians or loved onesFacilitates survivor support groupsMaintain caseload of individual clientsImplement trainings to professional groups and organizationsCompletes data collection, data entry, required reports and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards.Attend internal and external meetings with staffProvide helpline backup coverage as neededPromote, support and demonstrate TurnAround's mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards on a day to day basisEffectively coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care as neededWorks in collaboration with caregivers of children to problem solve; assist caregivers with behavioral management techniquesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related fieldLicensed to serve clients - LMSW, LGPC, LCPC, etc.Knowledge of issues of sexual trauma and gender-based violenceProven experience with trauma-responsive counselingDemonstrates cultural competency in working with a diverse populationThe ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentThrives in a dynamic environmentKnowledge of database management systemsBi-lingual highly encouraged to apply2+ years of direct service with survivors of sexual violence preferred inclusive of internship hours.SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range from $60,000. TurnAround provides employees with a comprehensive benefits package including paid holidays, 15 days of vacation, and sick leave, in addition to paid time off during the agency's winter break - the week between Christmas and New Years; flexible schedule including remote options; 401K, 100% coverage for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, and ongoing training. Agency paid supervision toward licensing. We also offer CEUs and tuition reimbursement.HOURS: Position is full-time although part-time may be negotiable, standard 9:00am- 5:00pm Mon.- Thurs. 9:00am-4:00pm Fridays. Higher rates of pay for evening and weekend hours. Hybrid & Remote work schedules are available.
