Job SummaryThe pharmacy technician assists with the compounding of sterile preparations in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures, assembly of patient supplies and equipment, and other tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician assists with the maintenance and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas as described in the Apollo References Manual, and assists with quality control and performance improvement activities as directed by the franchised pharmacy manager. This position reports to the pharmacy manager.QualificationsRequired: High school diploma or equivalentRequired: At least 18 years of ageRequired: Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources, and consumersRequired: Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (if applicable in state(s) of service area)Required: National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT)Required: Proficiency utilizing computers and programs such as word, excel, outlook, and other applicable programs Preferred: Completion of pharmacy technician training preferredPreferred: Experience in laboratory, health care setting, compounding sterile products Physical Requirements TaskMay require lifting over 40 lb.May require standing for extended periodsMay require frequent use of computer keyboardMay require use of latex productsMay require moderate to high amounts of driving (extended sitting)ExamplesLifting cases of enteral formula and infusion solutionsStanding at laminar air flow hood during product preparationData entry, patient documentation, label preparations, etc.Clean and sterile gloves; latex injection ports Patient deliveriesEssential Job Functions• Perform infusion related sterile compounding procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures.
