EHS Specialist SummaryUnder the supervision of the EHS Director, the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist performs diverse and complex duties requiring thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable procedures and policies pertaining to OSHA's General Industry Standards. Responsibilities· Responsible for assisting the La Colombe Safety and Environmental Department in assigned workload. · Ensuring that our Safety Training Tracking System is kept up to date including assignment profiles and training tracking reports. · Takes part in delivering Safety Authorized Training, New Hire Orientation, and Contractor Safety Training. · Manages the site's safety shoe and prescription safety glasses program.· Maintains a current log of all fall protection equipment and certified tie-off points onsite and ensures an annual certification has taken place.· Conducts quarterly X-ray inspections and logs findings for the review of the site Radiation Safety Officer.· Oversight of the Confined Space Monitors ensuring functionality, monthly calibrations, and regular bump checks.· Work directly with site supervisors, managers, and frontline employees to address safety concerns, developing strong working relationships with leadership to help lead safety programs for entire departments.· Monitor department-specific safety metrics, dashboards, and OSHA logs for the site.· Collects, documents, audits, and prioritizes feedback from the BOS and Near Miss Programs.· In conjunction with site EHS Manager and Supervisor conducts post-accident investigations and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.· Maintain all safety files and records for regulatory compliance.· Conduct site walkthroughs and formal audits to identify hazards, compliance outages and prepare corrective action plans. · Maintains a First Responder CPRAED Certification and will be asked to respond to site injuries to help determine appropriate level of care. This will be done in conjunction with the site Occupational Health Nurse.· Assists the Site Occupational Nurse in conducting annual audiograms when needed and obtains certification as a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC).· Manage the onsite Personal Protective Equipment Vending Program. · Works productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.· Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.· Support site Safety Committee and subsequent follow-up actions. Requirements· Experience and Knowledge in OSHA Regulations· Excellent computer, communication, and training skills.· 3-4 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment with key experiences arounds safety programs· Excellent MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer skills.· Ability to effectively train large groups of people on complex subjects effectively
