Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates,Summary:The Manager Pharmacy Procurement will manage and control all aspects of medication-related supply chain and financial management for the health-system, including medication and supply purchasing, inventory management, vendor management, group purchasing organization (GPO) and wholesaler relationships, standardization, supply-chain related information systems and technology, and monthly reporting. They must have a thorough understanding of supply chain, contracting, and Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) best practices. Additionally, they will serve as the primary contact within the Pharmacy department for the Finance Team. The management of supply chain is critical to our to ensure that we supply the right product to our patients at the right time. The Manager Pharmacy Procurement will report to the Director of Pharmacy Business Services and work collaboratively with Pharmacy Directors and Managers in the areas of information technology, business management, ambulatory services, specialty pharmacy and inpatient operations. The Manager Pharmacy Procurement will directly manage the inventory management and mitigation of medication shortages by leveraging technology and predictive ordering processes. Additional areas of oversight include pharmaceutical contract compliance, GPO optimization activities, evaluation of outsourcing needs for high-risk compounded sterile products, and ensuring compliance with DSCSA provisions. In addition to supply chain functions, the Manager will oversee the Pharmacy's obligations in the procure-to-pay process and will work closely with AP and finance to assure the process is completed in an accurate and timely fashion. The Manager Pharmacy Procurement will be responsible for the development and implementation of innovations in health system pharmacy. Responsibilities include the analysis, identification, and implementation of opportunities to improve quality, cost, and productivity within all aspects of department and health-system medication supply chain. All responsibilities are accomplished in collaboration with the pharmacy leadershipmanagement team under the direction of the Director of Business Services.Responsibilities:1. Provides oversight and supervision of pharmaceutical purchasing staff and coordination of purchasing activities for the system-wide Pharmacy department.2. Leads contracting efforts to evaluate contracts related to pharmaceutical cost, distribution, technology, and automation; Optimization of contract compliance through evaluation and audit of wholesaler pricing systems; Ensures systematic and timely audit of GPO contract changes to ensure accurate and timely pricing updates; Leverage relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers to achieve improved cost of goods.3. Manages pharmacy purchasing outside primary wholesaler relationship to ensure adequate and timely procurement of goods.4. Assures integrity of the pharmacy purchasing system including inventory control, cost account and transfer systems as well as auditing needs.5. Serves as an expert advisor on supply chain forecasting related to pharmacy spend and trend budgeting, vendor market intelligence, new pharmaceutical launches, and GPO pricing intelligence and trend reporting in efforts to achieve cost reduction goals and optimize cost savings.6. Collaborates with wholesaler representatives to maximize contract and rebate opportunities.7. Participates as a member of pharmacy department and health system multidisciplinary teams and committees.8. Manage essential reporting for the operating budget in collaboration with Finance - Manages the required preparation and monitoring of pharmacy reports.9. Serves as a member of pharmacy coordination and collaboration with the organizations' finance department; Manages the P2P process between Pharmacy and Accounts Payable to assure bills are accurate and paid.10. Manages identified pharmacy purchasing specialist staff and hierarchical system direct reporting team in addition to creating onboarding & training programs for employees as our systems may shift and new employees are integrated into organization.11.
