At Propio Language Services we are closing the language gap by connecting people anywhere and anytime through innovative technology and solutions.Founded in 1998 Propio Language Services provides critical interpreting and translation services that improve the quality of life with the communities we engage in. We do that by providing both remote and on-site services in more than 200 languages, for over 4,000 clients with a diverse and highly experienced staff, and over 5,000 contract interpreters.Quality interpretation is critical to our shared success, and it is only possible by bringing in the best interpreters in the industry.We currently have a need for Contract Onsite Interpreters in the Kansas City areawho have a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and are passionate about what they do.What we look for in an interpreter:We want to work with people who have a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and are passionate about what they do.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms duties in a spirit of teamwork and cooperationProvide interpretation in person and virtually both by phone and video remoteProvides sight translation as neededPrecisely and accurately interprets critical information given by Propio's clients into pre-determined target language(s)Complies with applicable ethics and terprets in a timely and accurate manner for the consumerfamily members in a wide variety of settingsEstablishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA andor regulatory requirements or policies and standards.Required QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or GED equivalent1+ years of relevant Portuguese interpreting experienceIntermediate level computer skillsAccess to reliable transportationAbility to provide documentation of updated vaccinations to include but not limited to: TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B (or declination), TDAP and Seasonal Influenza (Flu) and CovidSuccessful completion of a drug test and background checkPreferred QualificationsMedical andor legal interpreting experienceSoft SkillsExcellent written and verbal communicationOutstanding customer service and professional behaviorAbility to manage confidential and sensitive informationFluency in relevant language(s).Excellent English verbal and written skillsDemonstrates excellent listening skillsAbility to interact and communicate with people over the telephone, video, in person, often in stressful or difficult situationsAbility to meet deadlines and demonstrate dependability and accuracy in service delivery
