Job Description:

We're collaborating with a global manufacturing enterprise seeking to appoint a Senior Cost Accountant for a pivotal site. In this role, you'll manage standard costing procedures, conduct cost planning and analysis, handle month-end reporting, and oversee inventory accounting. As the lead accounting figure at the site, you'll receive full support from the Cost Accounting Manager at the corporate headquarters. This position offers an opportunity to spearhead the month-end process and collaborate closely with the operations team to enhance efficiency and drive progress.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the foremost finance and accounting authority at the facility, contributing to decision-making processes and leading the month-end closing activities.Act as the primary point of contact for financial analysis and accounting inquiries, providing insightful explanations behind the numbers.Manage inventory batches and address any discrepancies throughout the production process, ensuring accurate accounting treatment.Contribute to annual planning initiatives for both variable and fixed costs, including departmental expense budgets.Support month-end closing procedures and oversee the annual physical inventory count, with involvement in the cycle count program.Collaborate with the plant finance team to comprehend cost variances and work towards reducing overall expenses.Generate monthly financial reports and analytics for review with the operations team.Partner with operations to evaluate, monitor, and communicate cost-saving initiatives.Calculate ROI and financial implications for capital projects and major maintenance undertakings.Conduct periodic assessments of labor and overhead rates, contributing to process improvement endeavors and project-based assignments.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a reputable institution.At least 2 years of accountingcosting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.Prior exposure to inventory transactions and accounting practices.Experience in accounting within a multi-location, midsize to large organization.Proficiency with ERP systems in a manufacturing context (Experience with Oracle is advantageous).
